Dangote Refinery sets to begin production as first crude shipment lands in facility in Lagos, Nigeria

Dangote Oil Refinery is set to begin fuel production as the first crude shipment is expected to arrive at the facility later today. According to S&P Global, a reliable source in the oil and gas industry, an OTIS tanker carrying 950,000 barrels of Nigeria’s Agbami crude began its voyage to Lekki in Lagos State on December 6, which is the nearest land port to Dangote’s offshore crude receiving terminal.

 

The arrival of the first crude shipment at the refinery, which is worth $19 billion, is a significant milestone for Nigeria’s oil industry. The report further states that the tanker is expected to reach its destination on December 7th around 8:00 p.m., and this shipment marks the beginning of crude supplies for the refinery’s operations.
