TikTok, the leading video-centric social media platform owned by ByteDance, has introduced new direct messaging features to increase engagement on its platform. The latest update aims to improve user involvement by eliminating the need for third-party messaging apps such as Messenger, Instagram, WhatsApp, and others.
This update allows for easier connections between friends and family within the TikTok platform. The new features include highly anticipated group chats that support up to 32 participants, allowing for user-generated content in the form of short videos.
The addition of group chats significantly enhances the direct messaging functionality of TikTok, making it easier to share and comment on TikTok videos with multiple people at once. Users 16 years of age and older can initiate group conversations. The group chat function on TikTok adds a new level of convenience to the platform, whether you’re organizing a group activity or discussing the latest viral trend.
