Okadabooks, an online community for writers and readers in Nigeria, has announced the closure of its virtual bookstore after 10 years being active.
According to a statement posted on its website, the bookstore will cease operations from November 30th.
The statement further explains that the company has explored several options to keep the store running, but the challenges it has faced are beyond its capacity to overcome. The decision to close the virtual bookshelves was not an easy one for the company.
The CEO went on to express his sincere gratitude to the literature community for their support over the years before briefly touching on the future.
In his words, “As we bid farewell to OkadaBooks, we hope that you continue to explore the vast world of literature through other avenues. The adventure doesn’t end; it merely takes a new and exciting turn”.
