Informatica has announced a strategic partnership with HowGood, a leading independent research firm known for its vast database on food product sustainability. This collaboration is set to empower food suppliers and manufacturers to make more informed, data-driven decisions aimed at improving their sustainability practices and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) performance.

As consumer demand for sustainable, ethically produced products grows, alongside stricter sustainability reporting regulations, the food industry faces increasing pressure for transparency. Informatica’s AI-powered Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC) for ESG Sustainability, now enriched with HowGood’s extensive sustainability data, allows food companies to assess and report on the environmental and ethical impacts of their ingredients and products from farm to fork.

HowGood’s database, which includes over 90,000 agricultural emission factors, provides comprehensive insights into critical areas such as greenhouse gas emissions, water usage, biodiversity, labor risks, and land use. Combined with Informatica’s powerful data management solutions, the partnership will enable food manufacturers, retailers, and ingredient suppliers to conduct granular analyses, facilitating more sustainable choices across their supply chains.

“Access to comprehensive sustainability data is key to achieving net-zero goals in the food industry,” said Michael Streitberger, Head of Partnerships at HowGood. “Through this partnership with Informatica, we are equipping decision-makers with the tools they need to integrate sustainability into their strategy, driving industry-wide decarbonization and ethical improvement.”

Manouj Tahiliani, SVP and General Manager of Master Data Management (MDM) at Informatica, also emphasized the significance of the collaboration, stating: “By integrating HowGood’s sustainability insights into our platform, we’re enabling food brands to make better, more responsible decisions. Whether analyzing the environmental impact of an entire menu or tracking the sustainability of a single ingredient, our customers now have the data they need to make choices that align with their environmental commitments.”

The integration between Informatica MDM and HowGood’s data is now available, providing businesses with direct access to sustainability data within their product management workflows and procurement operations. This allows companies to seamlessly embed sustainability metrics into their decision-making processes, further promoting transparency and accountability in the global food supply chain.

This partnership underscores a broader industry trend of leveraging AI and data to address climate challenges while fostering sustainable economic growth.
