Elon Musk’s X braces for shutdown in Brazil as spat with judge intensifies

It appears that a legal battle is unfolding in Brazil involving the social media giant X and its owner, Elon Musk. The company is currently facing pressure from the Supreme Court in Brazil to comply with local laws, and there are concerns that the platform may be ordered to shut down. Additionally, there have been issues related to the identification of a legal representative for the company in Brazil. Elon Musk has publicly criticized the actions of the Supreme Court judge and has expressed his opposition to what he perceives as censorship. 

 

 

In response to the situation, Brazil’s Supreme Court has taken measures such as blocking the bank accounts of Musk’s Starlink satellite internet firm. This ongoing feud has put X in a precarious position in one of its key markets. The legal disputes also involve the alleged presence of lies and distortions on the platform, with the Supreme Court issuing orders to block certain accounts.
