Apple unveiled the highly anticipated iPhone 16 at its flagship event, designed from the ground up with Artificial Intelligence. Alongside the iPhone 16 series, the tech giant announced several AI-driven updates for iOS 18, placing Apple firmly within the growing trend of AI-powered smartphones launched in 2024.
Apple’s AI platform, Apple Intelligence, took center stage at the event. “The iPhone 16 has been built from the ground up for Apple Intelligence,” remarked CEO Tim Cook.
The new iPhone 16 lineup introduces a unique camera control feature along the side for easier access to camera settings. It is powered by the A18 chip, which Apple claims delivers a 30% speed improvement over the iPhone 15. The iPhone 16 is priced at $799 for the 128GB model, with the iPhone 16 Plus starting at $899 for the same storage capacity.
Apple Intelligence, primarily positioned as a private, background AI engine, enhances existing apps and features without compromising user privacy.
